The customer is a US-based Shopify retailer specialising in premium baby, nursery and family gifting products.
Its product range includes luxury blankets, collectible soft toys, nursery accessories, children’s apparel and keepsake gifts. The company differentiates itself through high-quality craftsmanship, nostalgic story-led designs and premium gift-ready packaging.
Rather than positioning its products as everyday purchases, the business focuses on creating meaningful gifts designed to be cherished, remembered and passed down through families.
The company engaged HHP Design to increase its visibility on Google, attract more customers through organic search and strengthen its presence across traditional and AI-powered search platforms.
The SEO Goal
The store already received valuable traffic from customers searching for its brand name and selected products. However, it had an opportunity to reach a much larger audience searching for broader terms related to:
- Luxury baby blankets
- Baby shower gifts
- Newborn gifts
- Nursery accessories
- Keepsake gifts
- Premium gifts for families
HHP Design developed an ongoing Shopify SEO strategy focused on expanding non-branded search visibility while strengthening the store’s existing brand and product rankings.
Strategy & Process
The initial SEO campaign focused on improving the store’s existing foundations before moving into broader authority building and AI search optimisation.
Step 1: Google Search Console and Indexing
HHP Design connected and reviewed Google Search Console to establish a reliable performance baseline and confirm that important product, collection and content pages could be discovered and indexed by Google.
This allowed us to monitor:
- Google search clicks and impressions
- Customer search queries
- Click-through rates
- Average ranking positions
- Page indexing and technical issues
- Products and collections attracting organic traffic
Step 2: Product and Collection Page Optimisation
We reviewed selected product and collection pages and updated their SEO titles and meta descriptions.
The optimisation focused on clearly communicating each page’s product type, value and relevance to Google while targeting searches with genuine purchasing intent.
Customer-facing product names and descriptions remained unchanged. The SEO information was updated separately, allowing the store to improve its search targeting without affecting its branding or customer experience.
Step 3: Search-Focused Blog Content
We researched the questions and topics potential customers were searching for and developed blog content around relevant product and gifting themes.
Each article was created to:
- Target a defined search opportunity
- Answer a genuine customer question
- Support relevant products and collections
- Strengthen internal linking
- Expand the store’s non-branded keyword visibility
- Provide content that could also be understood by AI search platforms
Step 4: Monitoring and Ongoing Improvement
Google Search Console data was reviewed throughout the campaign to identify which pages and keywords were gaining visibility.
This information was used to refine page targeting, identify new content opportunities and plan the next stage of SEO, GEO and AEO improvements.
Results
During the first month following the initial optimisation work, Google Search clicks increased from 579 to 1,660.
This represents an increase of approximately 187%, meaning the Shopify store received almost three times as many organic clicks from Google.
One of the store’s leading product-related searches also achieved:
- 124 organic clicks
- 35.63% click-through rate
- An average Google position of 1.16
These results came from unpaid Google Search traffic rather than paid advertising.
The campaign also strengthened the store’s performance for branded and key product searches while expanding its visibility across a broader range of non-branded terms.

What the Results Mean
The growth demonstrates how improving existing Shopify product and collection pages, publishing targeted content and monitoring Google Search Console can create meaningful results without rebuilding the entire store.
More importantly, the store is now developing a broader organic search presence. This gives it more opportunities to reach potential customers who are searching for relevant products but may not already know the brand.
Next Steps
The next stage of the campaign focuses on:
- Expanding high-value non-branded keyword rankings
- Optimising additional product and collection pages
- Publishing more search-focused blog content
- Strengthening internal links between content and products
- Improving structured data and direct-answer content
- Monitoring visibility across Google and AI-powered search platforms
- Building relevant authority signals and backlinks
SEO is an ongoing process, but the first month established a strong foundation for continued organic growth.
